No, we do not bill your insurance, because insurance companies place undue restrictions on our practice, and we find it impossible to provide extensive time and attention to your case when trying to work within the constraints of insurance companies. We will be happy to provide a super bill which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. It will be up to the specific insurance policy whether the visit will be reimbursed either in part or whole. 

We offer discovery calls at no charge to determine whether you will be a good fit for our practice. If it looks like we will be a good fit, then depending on the complexity of your condition and how many visit you will need, we will recommend a personalized treatment program. The cost will vary depending on the person. 

Yes, we have monthly payment plans available. 

It is an approach that focuses on restoring the balance of the body through finding and resolving the root cause of the dysfunction rather than simply addressing the symptoms themselves. It is based on an understanding of systems biology, which means that all of the organ systems of the body including our brains and even our social connections and spiritual practices are interrelated and have an impact on our health. 

For example, type 2 diabetes affects multiple body systems, not just the patient's pancreas. There may be a vitamin D and omega 3 deficiency contributing to the insulin resistence at the level of the cells. There may be an imbalance in the gut microbiome which also contributes to insulin resistance. The person may be experiencing stress due to lack of supportive relationships in their life. High stress in turn leads to higher cortisol and increases blood sugar. They may turn to processed foods and sugars as a coping mechanism. A traditional endocrinologist would likely focus on medications to control the high blood sugar along with some basic nutrition recommendations. A functional medicine clinician would go much deeper to get to know that person and address all of the factors contributing to their blood sugar dysregulation.
